Reception open: 09:00-17:00
It is important to allow air to circulate within the storage unit. We advise that your goods are stacked allowing gaps between each item and also slightly away from the walls and roof of the unit. You will need to open the unit regularly to allow ventilation and air flow, if you are going away for a long period then you are advised to ask someone to do this for you.
Furniture and soft furnishings should ideally be covered in sheets to protect from dust. White goods such as washing machines and tumble driers, fridges and freezers need to be completely dry prior to storing, this will prevent damp and mould, ovens should be thoroughly cleaned. Leave doors slightly open on all these goods.
Paperwork should be stored in plastic crates. Small electrical items would also be best stored in crates.
If wet items go into storage they will cause damp and condensation, Please make sure all items are completely dry.
It pays to buy good quality twin wall packing boxes or plastic crates, as these will stand up to being stacked. Always put heavy items at the bottom and lighter items near the top. Remember to keep item which you may need frequent access to near the front and less important/used items near the rear.
Labelling boxes on the side of the boxes will help you when you need to find something or to take to the right room when moved.
Filling the boxes to the top will also help prevent the boxes from collapsing Remember to pack books and similar heavy items in smaller boxes/crates as not to make them to heavy to lift.
